HMS Victory Map

HMS Victory lies at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard on the south coast, where Nelson’s flagship from the Battle of Trafalgar remains one of Britain’s most significant maritime treasures. Built in 1765, this ship-of-the-line carried the admiral to his final victory and is now preserved as a museum vessel, allowing visitors to step aboard and explore the wooden decks where naval history was made. The ship is open daily from 10:00 to 17:30 and features limited wheelchair access via ramps to one deck only.

The Historic Dockyard itself occupies a working naval area within Portsmouth, accessible by road and rail links serving the city. Visitors can walk through the gun decks, see the captain’s quarters, and stand where sailors worked during the Napoleonic Wars. While facilities include an accessible toilet on site, wheelchair visitors should note that access is restricted to specific areas of the vessel. The attraction draws history enthusiasts, naval researchers, and tourists exploring Portsmouth’s maritime heritage year-round.
